Held in Coconut Grove at Dharma Yoga Studio. A fun approach to the exploration of Vedic, Tantric and Bhava Mantras meeting 4 times (2 hours each) over 4-6 weeks. This series is an offering for those looking to understand what Mantras are, and how they are used for an individuals practice or for a class or group experience. All are welcome: Kirtan Wallahs, Yoga Teachers and Yoga practitioners alike, and anyone looking for personal enrichment and Spiritual development. Richard Brookens has had the great fortune of working and learning from some of the foremost Bhakti and Mantra masters of our time, accompanying them on Tablas and woodwinds over the last ten years including Bhagavan Das, Durga Das, Russill Paul, Shyam Das, and most recently Jai Uttal. All of these great masters of Bhakti Yoga and Mantra have contributed to Richard’s understanding of Mantras. Playing for Russill Pauls in depth Yoga of Sound workshops were especially informative, but the experience of playing with all these great masters allowed him to experience the transmission of the energy of Mantra. He has also studied Sanskrit with Ma Bhastrikananda from the Ananda Ahsram in Monroe, NY. He is currently teaching Yoga classes in Pompano Beach and plays Live Sacred Music for other teachers Yoga classes as well.

The oldest studio in Ft Lauderdale features The Barkan Method of Hot Yoga. Diego will be leading a strong Hot Vinyasa Flow with Live Sacred Music.

Barbara offers a deep wealth of Yogic alignment work and a light heart during a flow of poses in a 90 degreee studio.The studio is quite large with a high ceiling. It’s a great space for live music and Yoga. I’ll play Bansuri (Indian), Egyptian, and Dizi (Chinese) bamboo flutes, American Indian Flute, Alto Flute, Tablas (Indian hand drums), Udus ( African Clay Pot), and 2 huge Balinese Gongs. Using a digital looper to record myself live, and ambient tracks from my own Yellow Bell CDs as backgrounds for my live performance, I will follow the energy of the class from Invocation to deep relaxation. Barb and I have been singing Mantras in harmony to start and end the class! 1 1/2 hours (8:30-10 AM).
